Roof inspection cost
What a roof inspection really costs in Texas
A paid roof inspection in Texas usually runs about $150 to $400, and more if drone or infrared imaging is involved. Infinite Roofing inspects your roof for free, with a photo report you keep, whether or not you ever hire us.
The typical price range
Across North Texas, a standard paid roof inspection tends to fall between $150 and $400. The number moves with the size and pitch of your roof, how many stories your home has, and whether the roofer adds drone photos or infrared moisture scanning.
Why some inspections cost more
A steep two story roof takes longer and is riskier to walk than a single story ranch, so it costs more. A detailed written report for a home sale or an insurance dispute costs more again, and specialty work like an infrared moisture scan or a licensed engineer letter is a separate service with its own fee.
When paying for an inspection makes sense
If you are buying or selling a home and need a neutral third party on record, or you are in a warranty or legal dispute, a paid and formally documented inspection is worth it. You are paying for independence and a stamped report.
When a free inspection is all you need
- After a hail or wind storm, to see if you have damage worth a claim
- Before you file an insurance claim, so you know what you are dealing with
- When you are deciding between a repair and a full replacement
- To check an older roof before it starts leaking
- For simple peace of mind when a neighbor just replaced theirs

Common questions
Straight answers
Anything else, ask me directly. You will get me, not a phone tree.
Is a free roof inspection actually free?
Yes. Infinite Roofing does not charge for the inspection or the estimate, and there is no obligation. You keep the photo report either way.
How long does a roof inspection take?
Most homes take about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size and pitch of the roof and whether we check the attic as well.
Do I need to be home for the inspection?
It helps but it is not required. If you cannot be there, we can inspect the exterior and send you the photo report and findings to go over by phone.
Will an inspection damage my roof?
No. A proper inspection is a careful visual check. We walk the roof only where it is safe to do so and never do anything that would harm the shingles.
